Wow, I’m so sorry that happened to you. That was definitely not professional or acceptable of therapist, and I can’t help but wonder whether the therapist was triggered by what your ex said because of personal experiences of narcissistic abuse that have not been healed in themselves. It’s easy to point fingers away from wounds that linger and toward scapegoats who represent the cause of the wound. Whatever the case, I’m glad you asserted yourself and understand who you are well enough to realize that this was malpractice and not an acceptable diagnosis.
